Sharing Our Vision
Protecting Antarctica and the Southern Ocean through science, cooperation and a shared commitment to peace.
Who We Are
Founded in 2012, Agenda Antártica operates as a policy-oriented NGO, knowledge platform, and think tank — producing research, engaging in policy dialogue, and building educational resources to advance the protection of Antarctica and the Southern Ocean from a Latin American perspective.
Where We Come From
For more than a decade, Agenda Antártica has supported public policy initiatives, educational programs, and environmental impact projects related to Antarctica.
The organization is also co-editor of the Journal of Antarctic Affairs together with the Antarctic and Southern Ocean Coalition (ASOC).

About
Agenda Antártica
Since 2012, Agenda Antártica has worked at the intersection of knowledge, policy, and advocacy for Antarctica and the Southern Ocean. The organization functions simultaneously as a knowledge platform — producing and disseminating research through publications and educational resources — as a policy-oriented NGO engaging with international governance bodies, and as a think tank advancing analysis of Antarctic affairs and their global implications.
Across publications, educational programs, policy discussions, and international partnerships, the organization promotes the conviction that protecting Antarctica means protecting both a unique ecosystem and a global model of peaceful international cooperation — the most enduring example of its kind the world has produced. We are co-editors of the Journal of Antarctic Affairs together with the Antarctic and Southern Ocean Coalition (ASOC).

04 — What We Do
Three Pillars of Work
Our work is organized around three interconnected pillars — each addressing a distinct dimension of Antarctic protection. Together they form a pipeline from knowledge generation to policy action to public engagement.
Pillar 01
Science, Environment & Innovation
Supporting and disseminating research on Antarctica, marine ecosystems, and climate — connecting scientific findings to the policy frameworks that protect them.
Pillar 02
Policy, Governance & Global Cooperation
Engaging with the Antarctic Treaty System, CCAMLR, and international forums to strengthen the multilateral frameworks that protect Antarctica and amplify Latin American voices.
Pillar 03
Education & Leadership
Building Antarctic literacy across schools, universities, and professional networks — developing the next generation of advocates, scientists, and policymakers committed to Antarctic protection.
