EDUCATION &
LEADERSHIP

We build the next generation of Antarctic advocates through outreach, publications, and programs that bring together young leaders, scientists, and civil society.

Our Approach

Making Antarctica Relevant to the World

Antarctica may feel distant, but its protection is inseparable from the challenges facing humanity — climate change, ocean health, international governance, and sustainable development. We work to bridge that distance by creating educational content, programs, and platforms that connect people to the continent.

From university outreach and TEDx talks to the Journal of Antarctic Affairs and the Youth for Antarctica program, our education work forms a pipeline from awareness to advocacy — cultivating informed voices who will shape Antarctic policy for decades to come.

How We Build Leaders

Youth for Antarctica

A structured program to engage young leaders from Latin America in Antarctic science, policy, and conservation. Participants connect with the global community of researchers, diplomats, and advocates working to protect the continent, gaining tools and networks to carry this mission forward in their careers.

Educational Outreach

Through the Journal of Antarctic Affairs — co-edited with ASOC — public talks, TEDx presentations, and university partnerships, we make Antarctic science and policy accessible to broad audiences. Our goal is to ensure that knowledge produced by researchers reaches students, educators, and citizens.

Awareness Campaigns

We amplify critical moments — from CCAMLR negotiations to scientific expedition milestones — to raise public understanding of what is at stake for Antarctica. Through social media, press, and partner channels, we translate complex scientific and diplomatic developments into stories that resonate.
